The Mets stand firm and respond in an unexpected way to Pete Alonso’s exclusive offer

Everything indicates that the Queens team would be willing to lose its slugger, in order not to give an inch in the negotiation after having ’emptied’ the wallet by bringing in Juan Soto, who is also represented by Scott Boras. Steve Cohen and David Stearns do not want any more problems and want to cut the matter with Pete Alonso in a healthy way, at least for the team’s finances, and if that means losing him this offseason they are willing to take the risk. In view of this, Scott Boras is growing in confidence and says they are weighing offers from other teams.

The offer that Scott Boras and Pete Alonso made to the New York Mets in order to put an end to the renewal saga may not have resonated with the team’s management, who are once again adopting their initial inflexible stance by turning a deaf ear to the player’s arguments.

In this tug-of-war, the fate of Pete Alonso is at stake, as he not only wants to stay with the Mets, but also seeks to commit to the institution in which he enjoys total recognition from its management and fans. However, the famous aging curve continues to make noise in Queens, where they are not willing to give Alonso more than a short-term contract
