CC Sabathia has already chosen what will be on his plaque if he is elected to the Hall of Fame

The voting for the 2025 class of the MLB Hall of Fame has opened, and formerNew York Yankees pitcher CC Sabathia appears on the ballot for the first time.

While Sabathia won the Cy Young Award with the then Cleveland Indians, it was with the New York nine that the California native became a legend.

With the Bronx Bombers, Sabathia won the 2009 World Series, in addition to being the American League Most Valuable Player that year and being selected to the All-Star Game on six occasions.

Sabathia’s request if he makes it to Cooperstown in his first year

With 251 victories, more than 3,000 strikeouts and a World Series ring, Sabthia has enough credits to make it to the Hall of Fame in Cooperstown.

Sabathia was included on the ballot alongside Ichiro Suzuki, a former Seattle Mariners player, who could enter the Hall of Fame unanimously, as Mariano Rivera did in 2019.

In statements collected by CBS Sports, C.C. Sabathia said he is honored to be considered for induction into Cooperstown, six years after hanging up his gloves.
