Glaser didn’t reveal the amount she earned but she could be referring to Jerrod Carmichael, who made around $500,000 for the night hosting. Carmichael almost didn’t host, objecting to the opportunity because of the Golden Globes’ controversy regarding diversity.
Glaser makes history
Glaser rose to prominence in 2020 when she tore the ex-New England Patriot, Tom Brady, apart in Netflix’s The Roast Of series.
“I got paid pretty,” Glaser told SiriusXM’s The Howard Stern Show. “I’m good with that. There was a past host who said how much he got paid in his monologue and I got less than that.
“But that’s OK. I’ll get more next year. This first year, when you’re just trying to prove yourself, I honestly would’ve done it for free. It’s an insane platform to be on. It’s not about the money for me.”
The 40-year-old became the woman to ever host the show entirely on her own, and she received praise for her wit and humoring atmosphere.
